I Could Write a Book

Decade Down

Today is my wedding anniversary. Legally married 10 years now. Together for 16+.  I’m just going to copy something I posted to some friends. This day mentally drains me in a way. So many conflicting emotions.

Honestly, I’m very surprised we have survived this year. He did write me a very nice card today (and got me a gorgeous watch). I’m hoping once I go to Michigan and have some time to be away from him that I’m able to heal some things in my heart and hopefully, next year, we will be doing much better. I know I need to forgive him for lots of things and let him "back in". If that makes sense. And for the record - I haven’t been perfect, either.

We went out as a family tonight. Sushi and the movie - Kung Fu Panda. We had a really nice time. I told the kids all about our wedding and what we did on that day, etc.

Just thought I would say that the first week of June has been much nicer than the entire month of May. It’s been a little quiet, a little fun, a little busy. I know this isn’t "New Years" but I do hope this next year is a good one in my life.

Here’s my tidbit of the day: Everyone dies, but not everyone truly lives. Don’t forget to tell the ones you love ~I love you~ even when you argue.

Super Shitake Day

My kids were late to school. J knocks her head on the door getting out of the car. I make it through an emotional funeral and hot as hell burial. I put in calls to 4 different babysitters so dh doesn’t have to go to Open House or "babysit" our children tonight. I have a blow out on the way home. I have a massive headache. A nice man stops and helps me. (Thank you for not raping and or kidnapping me) I inadvertently end up with 2 babysitters tonight. Cancel one. Go to open house - with massive headache. Get a call saying daughter has poo’ed everywhere. Babysitter doesn’t know what to do. I go home and deal with poo. Take babysitter home. Get back and son #1 poos and overflows the toliet. Water and poo are going everywhere. He is crying and screaming. Son #2 is crying and screaming. If there hadn’t been so much "stuff" on the floor I would have sat down and cried. I call dh and tell him to buy me so much sushi I can’t eat it all. I think he can tell by the tone of my voice that something is wrong. He says he will pick up sushi and come home. LOL.

I have my first competitive tennis match for the season tomorrow. I get to drive on a spare tire with low air. The warning in the car won’t go off. I may arrive drinking.

I’m crashing in bed. Peace out.

Concentration Time

Filed under: Mommy post, Tennis, Sushi

I decided today that it is time to concentrate on me for a bit. I
played tennis today in what seems like a month. Amazing how much better
my mood has been all day. After tennis, I took the kids to the pool and
we had a blast. Even thought it was hotter than Hades, it felt so good
to be out in the sun. I love it.

I said that tomorrow I am going
to “spin class”. Again, I can’t wait. I hope Molly is teaching and that
she screams and hollers and yells for me to go faster and push harder
because someone really needs to. I hope the music is loud and that I
think a wolf is running behind me about to eat me. I’m getting high
just thinking about it.

I do so much better when I am
exercising. I definitely love that  endorphin high.  I think
I get a high from sushi, too. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, speaking of sushi, I have
this clock in my kitchen. I get to sit at my breakfast counter and look at sushi everyday. Woohoo. Go me.

It’s definitely  concentration time.

Hairspray and Harry Potter !

Filed under: Weekend, Books, Sushi, Movies

What more could a girl want all in the same night ? Well, maybe some chocolate would do. Sushi would be heavenly.  I could think of a couple other things to add to the list, but I’ll keep this child-friendly.

So, I’m off to see Hairspray and then if I stay awake long enough - I will be in line to get my Harry Potter book !! Woohoo. For once, I’m glad it’s Friday. It’s actually been a very nice day. I haven’t left the house yet and I was pretty productive. Go me on the organizing. I’m still going strong.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday singing and reading. This has got to be one of the best Fridays of the year !

Peace out, Muggles.

Kissing a Toad

Tonight at my eldest son’s baseball game (they won !) my princess daughter caught a toad. I tried to talk her into letting it go back to its family. I told her how sad it would be to be taken away from his home. Those excuses didn’t fly. All I got were HUGE tears and hiccuping sobs while she was proclaiming "but he is my pet, mommy" and then she proceeds to kiss the toad. Ewwwwwwwwwwww. Gag. Everyone around laughed. There was no way I could make her put the toad down. I dumped out my favorite Tervis Tumbler (sorry, L) and let her deposit her newfound prince-in-toad’s-skin pet. Yes, I will be scalding my favorite cup, but what else could a mommy do ? I have 2 sons who wouldn’t pick up a frog if you paid them and a daughter who won’t put one down. LOL. I really wanted a princess.

I got my presentation ready for tomorrow night( Jr League ). I learned that they are putting names in a hat and drawing out sleeping partners. That is such a NO GO with me. Not going to happen. Not enough money. Nope. I’m going to be sleeping on the floor and taking Aleve all weekend. Incase you’re wondering, yes, I think Aleve is a miracle drug.

One more day of VBS. Woohoo. Next week is going to be a normal week for me. I can’t wait. Tennis, working out and possibly sushi - here I come.

Night, night all. (and La Quinta is Spanish for roaches).

Productivity = Pleasure

I’m tired of the stress I have during the week because I’m worried about the laundry, the unmopped floors, the bathrooms that need scrubbing, etc. so I am going to do my absolute best to do the majority of that during the weekend. I want to have a week where I do not feel guilty for the days I don’t do anything other than workout. Somebody needs to remind me of this tomorrow when I don’t feel like doing anything.

Now, I know the above paragraph sounds good, but do you have any idea what my weekends are actually like ? LOL. This weekend we have one t-ball game, one baseball game, one hour of baseball photos, one hour long swim lesson, one Mass, one Cub Scout meeting and one birthday party. Add to the baseball games 45 minutes travel time each way, 30 minutes to the swim lesson, 20 to the birthday party each way, and on and on and on. Don’t forget how long it takes me to get myself and 3 kids dressed and ready to go to Mass on Sundays. No wonder I am so tired all the time. lol. I’m sorta busy. However, I am going to get things done this weekend. I am ! I’m actually doing laundry at the moment. That stuff is worse than bunnies when it comes to multiplying and Santa still hasn’t sent me a maid yet.

Tonight we had a family night. Tob has been begging to go eat sushi this week (that’s my boy) so we did. It is cute that the children actually have their favorite sushi restaurant. As Tob says, "the food is good there". cute. After dinner we went to see Shrek 3. Cute, cute movie. Not exactly what I was expecting, I honestly have no idea what I was expecting, but the kids had a blast. I can’t believe how much popcorn my children can eat. Amazes me.

I hope you all have a productive weekend. Enjoy some of it, too.

Adios amigo.

Pigasso, Cinco de Mayo, Jazz Fest

Filed under: Weekend, Mommy post, Sushi

Tonight we are going to "Pigasso". Think "Picasso". Yes, it is an art event combined with a dinner. Click HERE for an article on it. Looks intersting, huh ? I’m just glad it is at nighttime and inside. I’ve sweated enough today already.

Speaking of sweating, part of my sweating was done at swim lessons this morning. I heart my daughter’s swim teacher. Nothing physical, but he has the most patience combined with just the right amount of firmness needed to teach her. She is somewhat stubborn at times like her mother. She actually swam today. Woohoo. I think the teacher was impressed too because he turned to me and asked "did you see that ? ". Woohoo, way to go to my mini-princess.

Yes, today is Cinco de Mayo. Guess how I celebreated it , though ? Yep. Cinco de Sushi. Woohoo. I counted the hispanic waiter as my "Mayo" part for the day. shrugs. I just couldn’t pass up sushi. I really need to get a grip on my addiction. Nah. That wouldn’t be any fun.

Tomorrow is Jazz Fest. HERE  is another link for you. I’ve got to remember to wear the sunscreen tomorrow. I’m going to be one of the fools running around out there. Not because I’m having fun, but because I’m going to try and burn off some of my calories from the "oyster sacks", "poboys", "crab cakes", and on and on and on. There is just nothing like fest food.

Have a great remainder of your weekend. You think mine will ever slow down ?

April 18, 2007

Woohoo Wednesday !

What a great day ! Lots of sunshine, friends, tennis and working out. The only thing missing in my perfect day was sushi. You couldn’t  ask for a more perfect day than today. Oh, between tennis and weights, I burned 1478 calories. Go me.

However, I am very tired. Wow. I guess it is all the exercise I am doing. I feel wiped out around now. Time to put on my pjs, curl up with a cup of hot tea and watch American Idol. I surely hope the American public was smart enough to vote off Sanjaya. However his name is spelled. After watching last night’s episode, I really hope Jordin wins. I can’t believe she is only 17. So pretty and what a voice. I love it that she is not a stick-thin toothpick of a person. She is much more of a realistic model for our daughters. Ok, I have no idea how I got on that.

This afternoon, when I opened my mail, I received an email from the "searcher"  that I had contacted. I literally started shaking. I was hoping that it told me about her birthmother, but it didn’t. At least I know that I have contact with a living person in Russia. The searcher told me a couple things that I need to do. Once that is done, he said it generally takes about 4-6 weeks before we know anything at all.

I have this urge to read right now. I keep looking at a lot of my religious books. Some look very interesting. I think because of the birthmother stuff going on I am searching  out my "calm". Being quiet and reflective brings me peace.  I have this desire to cook for our priests. I don’t even know if I can explain that one. I think a lot about what Mother Theresa said one time " treat everyone as if they are Jesus". If everyone did that we would have a much nicer world to live in. Anyways, my point being, I can’t cook for Jesus but I can do somehting nice for the priests.

Egads, I’m in an odd mood tonight. Lots going on in my head. Lots. Some personal stuff, some friend stuff, some family stuff. I’m definitely looking forward to church on Sunday.

Enjoy your evening, everyone. Say a prayer or pass on some positive thoughts for all of the families/students involved at VA Tech.

Sushi, the non-criminal’s crack

I just had the best dinner that I can remember in forever. I just ate as much sushi as my stomach would hold. It was delicious. It was wonderful. I’m floating on clouds. (Tomorrow I’ll be running on the ellipitical).  My addiction has been satisfied once more.

I just wrote a little blurb on sushi and thought I’d share it with you all.

Sushi is the best food on this planet. It is also one of the most addictive foods on this planet. You almost need to have a "daddy" or "sugar moma" just to pay your bill.

Once you become addicted, you will find yourself searching out the raw, rare meat anywhere on this planet. It’s a great way to meet people. Even if you don’t have a date you can always sit at the sushi bar and fit right in.

Speaking of dates, sushi is the best aphrodisiac there is. Take your date to eat sushi and you’re bound to end up closer by night’s end.

For the non-sushi eaters you can eat sushi without ever eating one bite of "raw" food. You can go and order every bite of your sushi fully cooked. Now for us hardcore sushi addictes just give us sashimi. Yummmy.

Sushi is my crack.
