Board Retreat / Bored Retreat

Home for four days and I’m off again. It’s that time of the year again. The wonderful "Board (bored) Retreat." Oh, what fun. Yes, I’ll have an attidude adjustment before I arrive it’s just been so nice to sleep in my own bed and now I’m off to the floor.

These last few days at home have been wonderful. Busy, but wonderful. I’m going to miss my home this weekend. sighs. I’m also going to miss my niece’s 1 year old birthday party. I’m going to be the only family member who isn’t there. That sucks. I hate that I’m going to miss it. In case I didn’t mention it, this retreat is absolutely mandatory and I can’t miss. More than likely this is going to be my last active year in Jr League. I just can’t handle this kind of stuff anymore.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Oh, go see "Mamma Mia" this weekend if you haven’t already. It is such a happy movie. I loved the movie better than the actual Broadway play. Make sure you stay for the entire end of the movie. You’ll be peeing in your pants from laughing so hard.

Peace out , Babycakes. Don’t forget to tell the one(s) you love ~ I love you ~.

Hairspray = 2 Thumbs up !!!

Filed under: Movies

    Hairspray, what a great movie. Definitely the "Grease" of 2007. I love it that my main man, John Travolta, is in both. It’s an awesome, feel-good movie. You’ll smile and laugh through 90% of it. The other 10% of it is serious and it made me wish in a way that I had lived during the 60’s.

    Got some really cute quotes from it : "The darker the cherry the sweeter the juice" and "The darker the chocolate the richer the taste." I’m sure I screwed those up a little bit, but it was so cute and funny I was laughing too hard to remember them correctly.

    Go see it. You won’t be sorry.

Hairspray and Harry Potter !

Filed under: Weekend, Books, Sushi, Movies

What more could a girl want all in the same night ? Well, maybe some chocolate would do. Sushi would be heavenly.  I could think of a couple other things to add to the list, but I’ll keep this child-friendly.

So, I’m off to see Hairspray and then if I stay awake long enough - I will be in line to get my Harry Potter book !! Woohoo. For once, I’m glad it’s Friday. It’s actually been a very nice day. I haven’t left the house yet and I was pretty productive. Go me on the organizing. I’m still going strong.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday singing and reading. This has got to be one of the best Fridays of the year !

Peace out, Muggles.

Boat Irony

    Dh is still at the Seafood Festival showing his boat. His boat that he named "cappseyzed".  I just got off the phone with his brother. He is in the E.R. in Michigan and wanted to let us know that he "capsized" our boat and that the boom hit him in the head. He is not positive that he is okay. He has a previous head injury and he is very cautious with his nogin.

    So, does "capsize" mean our sailboat sunk ? I wouldn’t ask because it really wasn’t the time to be wondering if the sailboat is now sitting on the bottom of the Lake.

    For some reason, I just find the whole situation "ironic". Probably just my very warped mind.

   I did a lot of cooking today. All yummy food, too. I even shared with my neighbors. After my first "Hidden Power of Kindness" lesson and seeing "Evan Almighty", today, I’m really trying to do a little "act of random kindness".

   Please, oh please, I’m praying for a "Marvelous Monday" tomorrow.

Peace out, Babycakes.

Rent-a-Husband

Today has been one of those days. A little bit of good. A lot of bad. I had a great time at the movies tonight with my wonderful friend. "Knocked Up" was snorting hilarious. Glad I was of some entertainment to someone today.

I unloaded all of my day’s frustrations to my friend and she suggested "Rent-a-Husaband". Yes, others have suggested hiring someone to help me out but none have actually said a name. I guess it took being completely literal with me before "I got it". Rent-a-Husband might actually save my marriage. We will see.

So, there you have it. The synopsis of my day (minus a few(whole lot of) very boring details).  Oh, the biggest heartbreaker today - I think I’ve killed my ipod.

Surf’s Up, Dude !

Just got home from seeing the cutest movie. "Surf’s Up".  I loved it. I loved all the little penguins and the little bird "Mikey". It made me want to go back to Hawaii so badly. I can’t believe I just typed that. Lol. I swore when I got home (just a couple months ago) that I wouldn’t go back for 10 years. Well, I’ve changed my mind. I want to go back next year. Wonders how I can finagle that trip. hehe.

Today was an okay day. It’s Friday again. Boo hiss. That means I’m in for craziness again and I really am. Two different baseball games, one dance recital (4 hours long), one spin class (if I wake up in time) and one wonderful Mass that I can’t wait to go to. We are celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday. It is going to be beautiful.

I pray, pray, pray that my puppy sleeps longer than 5:20 in the morning. Dang it. How do you teach a dog that the weekend is here and that you don’t have to get up so early ? He is doing so much better so I’m really trying not to complain. Do they make "beano" for dogs ? Good grief.

On that note, I’m off. Hang ten, Dude. Surf’s up.

Productivity = Pleasure

I’m tired of the stress I have during the week because I’m worried about the laundry, the unmopped floors, the bathrooms that need scrubbing, etc. so I am going to do my absolute best to do the majority of that during the weekend. I want to have a week where I do not feel guilty for the days I don’t do anything other than workout. Somebody needs to remind me of this tomorrow when I don’t feel like doing anything.

Now, I know the above paragraph sounds good, but do you have any idea what my weekends are actually like ? LOL. This weekend we have one t-ball game, one baseball game, one hour of baseball photos, one hour long swim lesson, one Mass, one Cub Scout meeting and one birthday party. Add to the baseball games 45 minutes travel time each way, 30 minutes to the swim lesson, 20 to the birthday party each way, and on and on and on. Don’t forget how long it takes me to get myself and 3 kids dressed and ready to go to Mass on Sundays. No wonder I am so tired all the time. lol. I’m sorta busy. However, I am going to get things done this weekend. I am ! I’m actually doing laundry at the moment. That stuff is worse than bunnies when it comes to multiplying and Santa still hasn’t sent me a maid yet.

Tonight we had a family night. Tob has been begging to go eat sushi this week (that’s my boy) so we did. It is cute that the children actually have their favorite sushi restaurant. As Tob says, "the food is good there". cute. After dinner we went to see Shrek 3. Cute, cute movie. Not exactly what I was expecting, I honestly have no idea what I was expecting, but the kids had a blast. I can’t believe how much popcorn my children can eat. Amazes me.

I hope you all have a productive weekend. Enjoy some of it, too.

Adios amigo.
