I’ve had a ~Happy Easter~

Filed under: This and That, Easter

This morning started off pretty normally. The kids came and got in bed early on and when they awoke the first thing I hear is "Happy Easter, Mommy" in a little boy voice. So sweet.  We went to see if the Bunny had visited our house and he had. Everyone, myself included, got a basket. Mine had things such as a pack of brown rice, whole wheat bread, asparagus and a couple of other health goodies in it.

We arrived at Mass 20 minutes early and thankfully, we got a whole row together. The sermon was good. The church was packed. Afterwards, we went to the Country Club for Easter Brunch. I did my "best" (so-so) to eat healthy, but some of that food (corn and crawfish bisque) was calling my name. Unfortunately, so was a piece of dessert. lol. Oh well. I’ll be on the ellipictical a lot this coming week.

It was then egg dying time. Woohoo. We did "Picasso" eggs this year. All different colors swirled together. Picture "messy". lol.

Somehow, I got a bunny(bee) up my butt and decided that Easter Sunday was the perfect day to completely clean out my daughter’s room. I moved every piece of furniture out. I took every piece of clothing out. I worked on that room for almost 6 hours. woohoo. Go me. It is now perfectly organized (I’m pretty anal) and my sister is hitting the motherload with lots of cute little girl dresses.

So, that’s a recap of my day. It’s been much better and more productive than yesterday. I’m happy for that. ~ Happy Easter ~

Countdown to the Easter Bunny !

I love Easter. Always have. I love making baskets for my children. I love to watch their faces on Easter morning when they first see their goodies. Ah, a mother’s joy.

One of the reasons I love Easter so much was my father, "Poppa". Until I was 27 and living with dh my father always fixed me an Easter basket. I loved it that he took the time to go buy the goodies and he always used my childhood Easter basket. I’m not sure that I still have it anymore. Just realized that. Katrina took so many of our things it is sometimes difficult to remember what made it and what didn’t.

I would say that in my father’s eyes I was still his "little girl" or "little Kat" as he called me until I moved in with dh. Yes, dh and I "lived in sin" before getting married. I never said anything to my father about not receiving a basket anymore, but I desparately wanted one. sighs. I guess I thought no matter what that I would always be "his little Kat".

Now, I have a problem tonight. I have all the fillings for the children’s baskets and I also bought stuff for dh to have a basket. Where’s the problem ? Well, tonight the children mentioned mommy and daddy getting an Easter basket and I said "oh, yes, I’m pretty sure the Easter bunny is going to bring Daddy a basket". Dh’s eyes got real big and I realized he didn’t get me anything. So, here is my problem - do I put out dh’s Easter basket along with the children’s and then have the kids think mommy didn’t get one from the E. B. ? wahhhh. Maybe I’ll make dh’s basket and just set it in his bathroom in the morning. That’s what I’ll do. And guess what I’ll do on Monday ? I’ll go to the store of my choice and buy myself my own Easter gift or maybe, I’ll just order one online tonight. Lol.

I’m feeling a bit better than I was earlier today. I’m very excited about tomorrow morning AND about going to church tomorrow morning. Let’s not forget the real reason for Easter.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter and hopefully the Easter Bunny will visit your house. smiles. ~Happy Easter~
