I Could Write a Book

Graduate Student

I have happy December news to share. I’m officially a graduate student, now. Granted, I’m in the program under the "temporary grad status" at the moment but that is only until I finish all the legal paperwork. Anyone want to write a letter for me saying what a wonderful student I would make ? I am excited beyond belief. It took me forever to decide what major I would even get a Master’s degree in. How did I finally decide ? Someone asked me "what subject could you devour a book in ?" Once I started thinking about that I realized that I’ve known for a long time where my passion lay.

Incase you’re just dying to know I’m going to pursue a "Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders". Super excited. My first 600 level course (gawd that feels good to say that) is Neurophysiological Bases of Human Communication. When I am losing my mind next semester, please remind that I was excited to do this at one point. I honestly can’t wait to be back on campus. It is going to be so invigorating for me.

I finished decorating my house on Wednesday. Finally ! I must say that I’m very pleased with the results and if anyone wants to stop by for a cup of coffee - just ring my doorbell. I may not have any food to serve you, but coffee I can do.

This has to be the most magical year of Christmas so far regarding my children. They are at the perfect ages in belief, excitement, wonderment, etcment. Everytime they notice a special ornament or a new present under the tree the get so excited and their eyes and face light up. Their joy over the season is truly contagious. Now, I have had to override a Santa request. That was fun trying to explain why Santa won’t be bringing a specific gift. I said "Santa knows if the mommy or daddy won’t allow certain toys. If he knows they won’t allow it, he can’t bring it". I was surprised at how well the children accepted that explanation.

My daughter calls the "Bratz" dolls "Ratz". "Mommy, can Santa please bring me a Ratz doll?" My response- Mommy doesn’t not allow any "rats" in this house. LOL. There is no way on this earth I would allow those hoochie-mama dolls in my house.  Here’s J telling Santa her list of things she wants him to bring for her.
