I Could Write a Book

    Happy Birthday to my most wonderful son, Tob. Today is your 8th birthday and it feels like yesterday that you were born. You are such an incredibly special son. I do not know what I’d do without you. You got my "sensitive" side. You got my lips and eyes and I’m thinking you’ve probably even got some of my hair. lol. I’m sure you’ll hate me for that one later in life.

    You are kind to everyone. You carry your little brother to me when he has "fallen and can’t get up". You wipe your sister’s tears away after she’s been corrected. You tell me repeatedly that "she is just a baby and doesn’t know any better." You’re going to be a great big brother to your brother and sister. You already are.

    One of the things that I love about you is your love for God/Jesus. You love going to your religion class and learning right now. I am so blessed to have you as a son. I love that when you wake up in the morning, with your hair poking everywhere, the first thing you do is give me a "good morning hug". I love it that the last thing at night you want from me is a "blessing". Have I mentioned how special you are ?

    When you were born and in the hopsital, my father (your Poppa) held you and talked to you and he told you that he wanted to take you fishing one day. Unfortunately, he died before he ever had a chance to do that with you. You two would have had so much fun together. 

    Dear Tob, I love you so much. I thank God everyday for allowing me to be your mom. I hope that you continue to grow into the fine young man that I know you are going to be. You are going to go far in life.  You’ve overcome some obstacles already in your life and handled them very well. I know that you’ll be able to handle anything that comes your way.

    I hope you have a blast tonight at your Laser Tag birthday party. You deserve it. I can’t wait to try and blast you.
